Homeschoolers
The Radford Public Library supports homeschooling families. We offer extended checkouts of six weeks on materials being used for educational purposes (this does not include popular movies). We subscribe to Home Education Magazine and The Homeschool Handbook and back issues are available for borrowing. Should our diverse collection not contain materials needed for a particular curriculum please consult one of our librarians about obtaining appropriate materials or borrowing specific titles from another library through inter-library loan.
Meeting Room
Use of the Community Meeting Room at the Radford Public Library will be subject to the following regulations: Local, non-profit community groups may use the meeting room at no charge. Non profits that are not local and commercial organizations must pay $15.00 per hour for use of the meeting room. The meeting room is available for public gatherings of a civic, cultural, or educational nature, but not for social gatherings nor for commercial purposes. No admission fee may be charged for meetings.
Teachers
The Radford Public Library strives to be a partner in education. We offer educators extended six-week checkout periods and the opportunity to set up a separate classroom library card account. Teachers are encouraged to call (540-731-5527) or e-mail the library and have a librarian pull and place on reserve materials. Our staff will be delighted to make classroom visits or arrange for students to come to the library.
