Green-and-Gold or Golden Star, Chrysogonum

Blooms in May into June on the bluffs under the powerline along Wildwood Drive, and in the adjacent woods. Five (sometimes six) yellow rays surround a central yellow disk. Leaves green, strongly veined, hairy, toothed, and oval to triangular. No other flowering plant in Wildwood quite resembles it.
