Some Little Changes

Filed under: Uncategorized — toni @ 10:46 pm

Radford Public Library is making some changes. The logo we have had for the past 15 years needed to be revamped. It was designed by a staff member and has served us these last several years. Now we are pleased to unveil the new logo designed by one of our patrons.
We are excited that this design includes the New River and prominently features the P as in Radford PUBLIC library. After all, this is the public’s library. Our selections are made up of your requests, and on items that are reviewed in journals such as Library Journal, Booklist, and Kirkus Reviews. If you request an item that is out of print, we will contact you to see if you would like an interlibrary loan. We will then ask another library to loan it to us for your benefit.
Another change you may notice is our home page, www.radford.va.us/library All of our databases are being organized on the right of our homepage. So if you would like to read one of the many newspapers such as The New York Times or the Washington Post, free online, please use our newly expanded database, America’s Newspapers. If you would like to learn a new language, Mango is available to help you.
Remember during the holiday season, we are accepting non perishable items for the Daily Bread food pantry. If you would like to remove some of your fines, bring in a can of food and we will remove $1.00 of your fines for every can you bring in.
