Radford Heritage Foundation: The Key to the
Future Unlocking the Past

The Radford Heritage Foundation, a registered non-profit organization, was established in 1993, and obtained the Wharton home upon its donation by Kollmorgen Corporation. Soon thereafter, the Heritage Foundation began to create Glencoe Museum in the existing historical house at the request of the City of Radford.

Even though the initial task of the Radford Heritage Foundation was to create Glencoe Museum, our organization has since then set their sights on other projects to promote the rich heritage of the City of Radford and the New River Valley. From our "home base" at Glencoe we continuously offer new perspectives on local history and cultural opportunities for the community.

In addition to operating Glencoe Museum, the Radford Heritage Foundation is actively planning to restore Arnheim (the house of Dr. John Blair Radford, for whom the city is named). Other projects include the planning and promotion of a "New River Museum" in Radford, various publications and events highlighting our heritage, and a permanent endowment.

The Radford Heritage Foundation wants your participation as it seeks to accomplish these goals. We invite you to join the Radford Heritage Foundation by contacting us or visiting Glencoe Museum. Thank you.
