Archeology at Ingles Cabin - John Jeffries

July 24th, 6:30pm, Glencoe

Famous for the ferry across the New River, the Ingles family has lived at the same site for more than 250 years. John Jeffries, descendent of frontier heroine Mary Draper Ingles, has researched the long history of his family and done various archeological excavations on the Ingles homestead. In this lecture he will give a report on what he has found so far.

For almost two years, the Montgomery Museum and Lewis Miller Regional Art Center has undertaken the project to document and record the rich history of the county. In 2008, the new book on the history of Montgomery County will be published.
