The Arnheim Roof Repair
Community Development Block Grant 2007
Thanks to this grant, Arnheim is getting its first major makeover in decades. Using funds provided by the Community Development Block Grant program awarded by the city council, the Radford Heritage Foundation has hired locally owned Woodworks Inc. to replace the roof and do some exterior repairs. For more information, check this press release.
Cost-Share Grant with Virginia Department of Historic Resources
This grant will be divided into two halves. The first half will be used early next spring for an archeological evaluation of the grounds surrounding Arnheim. The assessment will be conducted under the leadership of Dr. Cliff Boyd of Radford University. “This assessment will give us a good idea of what is out there,” said Minnie Dean, Chairwoman of the Arnheim Committee of the RHF. “We want to make sure to preserve the historical integrity of the site. It will give us the necessary information for where to place a possible future road and parking lot.”

C.E. Richardson Foundation Grant
The preservation of Arnheim also received support form the C.E. Richardson Foundation. The$5000 grant awarded by the Pulaski-based foundation will be used to stabilize the building, which has deteriorated significantly in the past decades. Please check here for more information.
