The Radford Public Library is offering to our patrons access through Proquest, the Sanborn Maps of Virginia in digital form. These maps were originally created for assessing fire insurance liability in urban areas of the United States. The maps are available from cities and towns in Virginia from 1885 through 1970. Information from the maps includes streets, buildings and utility structures. The digital maps can be downloaded and printed at your convenience.

Access to the Sanborn map database is available from within the Radford Library. Patrons of the library have remote access to the database with a pre established username and password. This information is available from the library reference desk.
