Radford Senior Center is please to announce Debbie Lancaster as senior of the month. At a young age of fifty seven, Debbie was born in Pulaski County and currently lives in Dublin VA. She has two children, Travis Viars and Kristi Anderson and two grandchildren, Emma and Nora Anderson.
Debbie earned her Associate Degree in Science from Wytheville Community College. In 2006 she retired/disabled as a Registered Nurse from Pulaski Community Hospital after fifteen years of service.
For the past ten years Debbie has attended Oak Grove Church of the Brethren where she serves as a ministry to others. In her spare time she keeps herself busy with several clubs and/or organizations such as The Quilting Party, The Radford Quilt Guild, Dublin Baptist church and other sewing groups; not to mention her hobbies that include knitting/crochet, quilting, reading, gardening and cooking. Debbie has plenty to keep herself busy, she attends the quilting program at Radford Senior Center each Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.—12:00 noon. and teaches others to knit every Friday at 9:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m. at the senior center. Recently Debbie became a new member of the Radford Senior Center Tatting group that meets every second Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
