The Radford Public Library has, for many years, served as a safe place for teenagers to come after school while waiting to be picked up by their parents. The Teen Zone, was built specifically for this age group. In addition to a liberal-sized collection of books, the young adult area also offers recorded audio books, and magazines, all available for check out. A full time staff person is always on hand in the Teen Area. Activities include board games, weekly video game sessions, a chalk wall, and drop in crafts and games related to the season of the year. There is also an outdoor patio where teens are free to eat snacks in the afternoons. Teens may participate in the summer reading program offered every year.
